Thankful Thursday

A few things I'm thankful for today:

-How much she loves swimming and the progress she's making.

-Thankful I even got this shot...kid and dog = constant motion. Those two have a bond for sure.

-My two loves and celebrating our 11 year anniversary together.

-Soccer...it's the highlight of the week for her. It's a blurry pic because she's running non-stop the entire time.

-My garden is producing! Lot's of tomatoes, which I don't even like, but Sky loves checking on them every day and harvesting. Thankfully Mark and Sky both like eating them.

-Thirsty Dash with Elya and Michelle tonight! Haven't done a fun race in a while, and it's a bit cooler today.

-Lot's of play time at the park, and play dates. Keeping our summer fun.

What are you thankful for?

P.S. - I had much more to share but once again blogger isn't working with my photos and they won't upload for some reason. So, I've been feeling like a change was in order for the blog anyway, so I'm working on a whole new blog on a whole new platform. Time to move on I think.

Thankful Thursday

Things I'm Thankful For Today:
-Family visiting!

-Soccer class and how much Sky Loves it!

-The lovely flower situation I have going on, makes sitting outside and enjoying the weather so nice!

And to think I was worried I didn't plant enough of them in this planter. WOW!

-The opportunity to stretch my wings and take on a new project. Not trying to be vague, but not ready to share yet either. Just something exciting in my life that I'm thankful for, and thankful to stretch my creative mind and see what I can do.

-My garden, I just love watering, weeding, watching it grow, and harvesting. Sky is intrigued by it and loves helping me with it.

-Finding a summer schedule that seems to be working so I can get my workout's in, and get everything else done. It'll change again in a few weeks when school starts, but for now I've got it going on. So much happier when I get to workout first thing!

-Summer...hot weather...old friends...bbq's...living life outside.

Thankful Thursday

A few things I'm thankful for today:

-Being home. I love our home, and our life, and while vacation is nice I just really love being home.

-That Sky's had VBS all week and is having a blast. I was a little worried about sending her because we are not particularly religious and don't attend services, but it's been a good mix of typical pre-school type stuff, science projects and having love and joy in your heart. Just good basic messages. And, it has allowed me to unpack, clean up, grocery shop, and put around all kiddo free!

 VBS Crazy Hair day.
VBS Mad Scientist Day

-For real, I went to the putting green and driving range with my MIL Jan, and had a blast. So glad we got to spend time together doing something fun!

I'll be turning pro next week. ;-)

-For a little girl that has more personality than her little body can contain. It keeps things interesting and entertaining!

-Cooler temps!

-Tuesday Night Run Group...love it!

-I found a canned beer I like! Next weekend's activity is a glass free, so I needed to find beer in a can that I'm willing to drink, and this is it! Now I need to see if I can find in 4 or 6 packs rather singles.

-For family & friends willing to water my flowers and garden while we were gone. I lost one flower box, but it was an at risk box from the start (don't buy clearance flowers at the beginning of the season, something is wrong if they are on clearance when they should be brand new!), and the garden and herbs are doing great!

-Summer, I just really love summer.

Thankful Thursday

Things I'm thankful for today:

-Perfectly grilled steak, fresh herb chimichurri, and good wine!

An abundance of Cilantro = yummy chimichurri!

-Having a garden of sorts, and realizing what food should actually taste like. It's so much better cut fresh and eaten withing minutes of harvesting! The raised container is the herb garden, only planted a little bit of stuff to see how it goes. The other containers have tomatoes, peppers, and several different types of lettuce.

-Mini Frappuccino's at Starbucks! They are the perfect last day of swimming/hello summer fun schedule treat! Red Velvet Cake flavor is a must try!

-Those two...I love how much she loves "helping" him, and he's so patient with her, and good as finding ways she can "help" even if he doesn't really need help.

-Farmer's Market! Now that schools out we can enjoy Tacoma's Farmers Market and meet Daddy for lunch Thursday's!

When did the baby hands turn into big girl hands?!

-Little Passports. It has been the perfect birthday gift for Sky. She loves maps and each month we get new adventures to enjoy, and learn new things using the map. We have map time almost every single day.

-Movie time snuggles. The peace and quiet that come with movie time, and the ability to get a few things done, man I look forward to that all day long.

-Having the best little running partner ever. Everyone should have a chance to run with her and listen to her commentary, it's a crack up.

-All the "I turned 40 and now need a bunch of tests and screenings" doctor appointments are done, and everything came back negative. Nice to know I'm healthy!

-For the parenting challenges each day brings...true growth comes from looking at how I handle those challenges, and realizing opportunities for improvement. At the same time giving myself some grace...I'll never be the perfect parent, and I'm ok with that...I will be the best parent I possible can though.

Thankful Thursday

Things I'm Thankful For Today:

-The sun. It's so nice to be able to play outside all day, eat dinner outside, go for runs and not worry about weather. A life lived outside is just better!

-For going ahead and trying something totally outside my fashion comfort zone and finding the most perfectly comfortable pants in the world. I will be living in these all summer long!

Do you see little Olaf?
Pants - Marshalls and at a low enough price I may go get more patterns!

-An unexpected/unplanned weekend free. I don't love when Jamberry Parties fall through, but when they do we make the most of the time. We are going somewhere, not sure where yet, but working on finding a cabin, house, or room for a quick overnight trip. :)

-Little cowgirl boots and pretty summer dresses...so adorable!

Future fashion blogger!

-Having the gumption to do your own thing, even if it means a scarf that doesn't match, and is too hot for the sunny weather.

-My herb garden is growing, and now I have more containers to plant lettuce, carrots, green onions, and beans in! I love growing my own food!

-Good wine paired with a good book, and time to sit and enjoy both. It doesn't happen every day, but when it does I sure do appreciate it!

-For an awesome birthday camping trip for Sky. I will post more later, but for now I'm thankful for the gifts she was given, all of which she loves and has been playing with non-stop. The books, that we are reading over and over, and the items stitched with love that are already treasured favorites. She's a lucky little girl to have so many people in her life that love her!

She cleared off her bed of all other blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals to enjoy "The best blanket and pillow ever" (her own words). She goes in there and checks on them during the day to make sure they are still there.

Thankful Thursday!

I have so much to be thankful for today!

-So happy to be home with my babe, baby, and dog. I loved my trip, but my heart is always longing to be home. Be living our adventure filled, simple little life that we have going on. Plus, I just really love being home, in my house.

I couldn't find the little Olaf so I added a munchkin to the pic instead. :)

-That my husband had a Mother's Day gift waiting for me in SB. It made my heart happy, and I love how the pendant (walnut & brass) fits my style! Nitin is the creator, designer, maker at Corvus Woodcraft in SB, CA and does amazing work. You can connect with him via FB or IG to see pics of his work, request your own piece.

-It's sunny today. Not going to lie it was no fun flying home to rain, so the sun is a welcome break.

-I have a hair cut early next week! Look at how flat and sad my hair is. So sad, plus I want my bangs back.

Not a great pic, it's blurry but I love her smile and antics!

-Silas puts up with her kicking him out of his new bed so she can take it over.

-A nice little break in CA. I didn't realize how much I needed it until I was back home. I feel so fresh, less irritable towards munchkins antics and sass, and looking forward to each new day.

Thankful Thursday

Things I'm Thankful For Today:

-Not getting honked at and flipped off because of smoke billowing from my car.

-She has been taking naps a few times a week the last few weeks. I'd sort of forgotten how nice nap time is for me. I can get so much done, or ready almost half a book, when I'm not interrupted.

Did she fall off or did he push her? I have no idea but she slept through it.

-An unexpected morning in Seattle, in the sun, with frozen yogurt, and play time. She's a pretty fun sidekick. I could have gotten so much done around the house, but it felt good to skip out and visit one of my favorite stores in Seattle. Even if they didn't have what I wanted it was still fun.

-Cuddle time. I'm not kidding when I say we sit in that chair together for at least an hour a day. An hour of no tv, phones, or computers, just the two of us hanging out. It's the best part of my day. She has started making up stories to tell me, and we talk about Bishop a lot...how's he's doing in doggy heaven and if she can visit him..., we practice letters and counting, and spend time making silly faces at each other. And, sometimes we just sit, and don't say or do anything. Just hug each other and enjoy the silence.

-Time in the sun reading some of my fave magazines. It's like a little 30 minute mini vacation in the middle of the day!

-The shoes in the above pic. For real I wear them EVERY day. They are so comfortable, and cute! It's really nice to have a supportive, comfortable shoe to wear the day(s) after a long run. My legs and feet are usually worn out, and the best shoe choice is not the most fashionable (older pair of running shoes so I'm getting the support I need while recovering). I don't like wearing running shoes with "outfits" unless I'm actually running. These shoes have fit the bill nicely...TY Dad!

-Silas and Sky and how tolerant they are of each other. She pulls on his tail, jumps on him, chases him, grabs his leg as he walks past - and he jumps on her, knocks her over all the time, chews her toys, and smacks her with his tail. Despite all that they love each other.

Lounging in the sun enjoying the warm rocks. Only a 3 year old would find this comfortable!

-Flowers in the planter boxes.

-An herb garden that is ready to plant. I can't wait to cook with my own herbs that I've grown!

-Finding calm moments in the middle of the business of life.

Thankful Thursday

Things I'm Thankful For Today:

-Things Sky says. She is funny, really funny, and totally random, and makes me laugh when I probably shouldn't be laughing. "Give me some funk mommy", "My name is Shannon Kailey Yeatman,  you can call me Shannon", "I'm glad I'm your Sky mommy", "Not tomorrow mommy, today is today", and my favorite "I'm ready for my adventure today".

-My running goal this year was to get back into it (after the accident) and enjoy it. Pick fun races without setting any crazy PR goals. So far so good. I have two races on the schedule, both of which are bucket list races, and both of which will be fun experiences. I'm not going to lie, running still isn't feeling super awesome, but I'm doing it, and I hope if I'm smart it will get back to feeling less difficult.

-Time in the sun to enjoy cheers with my munchkin. I can't wait for warm summer days lounging on the wine patio and basically living outside!

I really have no idea what shoes I wore before I got these ones...wear them every. single. day.

-Old Navy's Kiddo clothing. I don't know what happened, she went to bed a 3/4T and woke up a 5T and nothing fit. The quality & cuteness is great for the price.

-Taco night with Margarita's and Penzeys taco seasoning. Not bragging at all, but I've always made pretty great tacos, but now that I've discovered Penzeys taco seasoning they are so much better. It's like pitching the perfect game, and hitting a grand slam every 4th at bat! My nod to baseball season right there! :)

-Plans, things we are working on, possibilities. Not being vague on purpose...the thing is even if some of the plans don't work out, it's still fun to contemplate exciting things and see if we can make them work/happen.

What are you thankful for today?

Thankful Thursday

Things I'm Thankful For Today:

-How calm Mark is when something goes wrong and is going to have a financial impact on us. Sometimes those impacts are hard to wrap my mind around with the single income. But, he's on it, and calm about it.

-My Jamberry business. It's not paying the "bills" just yet, (still it covers all it's own expenses and fun stuff like wine, hair cuts, race fees etc) but it may start paying the above mentioned, but not in detail, bill that we are facing.

-The cuddle time Sky asks for every morning. Makes the above stuff mentioned, but not in detail :), worth dealing with!

-The end of an era...I sold the jogging stroller this week. It made me a little sad, but we'll always have the stroller group and Santa 5K to look back on! So thankful for all the running time I got to spend with Sky thanks to this stroller! And, using that money for birthday dinner out with my man!

-Play dates with good friends. Let's be honest the play dates are more for the adults than the kiddo's, but they manage to have fun all the same!

These girls have no fear at all!

-Fun nails, sparkly clothing, and a night out with Michelle tonight! Bonus, babysitter in the morning so I can sleep in! Thank you Michelle!

-New running shoes for my birthday. Hello Ultra Boost! We are going to log some miles together!

-Also thankful to have the perfect tank and headband for SB Wine Half...thank you Dad for everthing!

-That I'm ok being Sporty Spice. It's just who I am. I can clean up when I need to, but seriously this is so much more comfortable and practical day to day.

Sweatshirt Criss Cross from Athleta (Highly recommend it!), pants Aspire Ankle Pants Athleta (again highly recommend!), shoes adidas. I've worn this exact outfit Mond, Tues, and Wednesday. Don't judge. Thank you Dad!

Not a TT thing, but let's play a new game with pics. Since Sky is the only one with full length mirrors in her room I'm going to start hiding a small Olaf in all the pics I take (didn't do it the ones above) and you see if you can spot him. :) I'll clean the mirrors next time.

-For fun friends who give me ideas like hiding Olaf in pics! They make life fun!

-A Bowl Full of Lemons Spring Cleaning challenge. At the end of 30 days there will be things cleaned in this house that perhaps have never been cleaned before. :-/ No housewife of the year award here.

Thankful Thursday!

Things I'm Thankful For Today:

-Sky may not swim like a fish (her words) but she does swim...right into the next class. After 4 (or is it 5) sessions in the same class I'm thankful it sunk (actually there is no sinking going on!) in this time through. She's loving it, and learning self sufficiency and confidence in the water...very important!

She's excited to be moving on to the next class!

-For fun weekends with friends, and especially friends for Sky to adore!

Hit up the UPS Flea Market last weekend with the Beckhams...love the aprons from the pickle lady!

-To Jena and Brooks Running for Sky's new kicks, and my amazingly (blister free) new trail shoes! We are both now Running Happy! And, should sky go on to accomplish amazing things in her running life Jena and Brooks get credit for being her first official shoe sponsor! :)

She LOVES her Pureflo's...won't take em off!

My new Puregrit trail shoes! I will do a review post after running in them a few more times!

Trail shoes & Mud, as it should be!

-Fresh, perfectly ripe strawberries!

-Long run for the week is already done and I have a massage this morning to help with recovery!

-For sunny, not rainy, group runs with the store! And, for busting out the rainbow, chevron bic band. It just makes me smile!

-Morning coffee and Sky sleeping in. It's a toss of the dice is she'll get up at 5 am or 7 am. So any time I get a solid hour of coffee, email, blogging, reading my book time before she gets up is a great morning indeed!

-It's been a busy life the last few weeks, but a good life. The fun continues this weekend and next. I'm thankful to have family and friends that are family to share the crazy fun with!

-The opportunity to run another bucket list race this year! Rainier to Ruston Relay...here I come! So excited to run with with Elya and her team!

-Spring Break next week, and I'm looking forward to having a more open schedule for Sky and I to have fun with. Hoping we have some good weather to work in some outdoor fun!
