What went right - all the grocery shopping got done and everything got put away...and it was sunny!
What went wrong - traffic, and missing my run.
What's more important than running - being a parent!
Missed my run because we took Sky to the ER. (No worries, she is fine.) She is such a rowdy girl always jumping off things and wrestling with Daddy. She is bound to get hurt at some point right?!
She hurt her arm while playing with Daddy. She was pretty shook up, so we gave her some Tylenol and waited to see how she felt after her nap. She woke up crying (way overboard crying for her) and since nothing was helping we packed her up and headed to the ER thinking something was broke. She was crying just from the pressure of the car seat straps pressing on her shoulder when Mark braked.
Thankfully it was only a partial dislocation (nurse maid elbow...very common according to the ER Dr.), and all the Dr. had to do was pop it back in.
Oh, but that isn't all. In the course of the normal checks they do the Dr. discovered she has a really bad ear infection! We had no idea. I even checked her temp last night because Mark thought she was warm, but was only at 97.1. The ER Dr. was shocked that she hadn't been running a temp or been fussy because her ears are full of yuck and at the bursting point.
So we left with an RX for her ears, but at least her arm wasn't hurting anymore. She was using it to climb on stuff and pick stuff up by the time we left. Meds are now on board for the ears.
I would feel bad about not noticing the ear situation, but aside from having a cold for weeks she has not been acting sick, not running a temp, and even though I limited the play outings, she was still full force around the house and playing outside. She is a strong little girl.
There are pics on Mark's phone from the ER, so will try and get some of those posted. I'm sure they are a little pathetic and a lot cute. Pooh went with us and somehow ended up in a face mask and shield...looked like Hazmat Pooh Bear.
We are offline tomorrow and the three of us are doing a day road trip Sunday. I won't be posting much. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, enjoy your runs and Easter activities!
