About Jen

Hello!

My name is Jen and I want to welcome you to my little corner of the blogging world. My husband and I started the blog back in 2008 as a way for out-of-town family to keep up with our adventures, and to document our travels and fun.

Sedona, AZ on our honeymoon.

It never really turned into much of a travel blog and I don't think the hubby has posted a single post.  Over the years it has morphed from a sort of daily on-line diary to a running, cooking, look at how cute my daughter is/I love my life blog.

Camping on the coast Summer 2014

Mark and I have been married for 10 years and together for 15. Our daughter Sky is four and so much fun! I feel very lucky to be a stay at home mom, and to spend my days with her and all her antics.

Washington, Utah 2013

I'm an average runner. You won't catch me winning races, or my age division, but you probably will catch me on the course (say Hi as you run past!), or drinking champagne at the finish!

I'd like to think I'm an above average home cook. I love to spend hours cooking complicated yummy meals and breaking the "never cook anything new when you have people over" rule. So far I have been lucky and never had a new recipe disaster.

A few things we/I enjoy are: exploring outdoors, camping, watching football (any sports really), traveling to new and different places, sometimes doing crazy things like bungee jumping, getting lost in a good book, hanging out with friends, good wine/tequila/beer/food, and chips and salsa specifically!

You can expect a lot of Sky pictures, lot's of talk about my running, my favorite recipes, and lot's of positivity. I focus on what I'm thankful for rather than what I'm frustrated about.

That's pretty much Sky...happy with a big smile all the time.

The world is full of enough negativity and some use FB/Twitter/Blogs to vent and share what a crappy day/life they have. Personally, I don't want to read that every day. So, I choose to try and keep it positive, or at least keep it real without being a downer. It may make it seem like life is perfect...it's not. It is pretty amazing, but like everyone I have days that feel frustrating, and I get upset or sad about things. Just because I don't post about it, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

I hope you enjoy the daily peek at my/our life! Leave a comment and say hi!
